Did you say that if we're closed but on-call for emergencies, meaning we only work if/when an emergency dental visit is needed, that employees still qualify for the unemployment benefits? We've come in once since they applied for unemployment, and the worked for just under 2 hours. Thank you
Linda Chen

We have several higher paid hygienists and RDAs and for them the UI benefits are just very little for them for these several weeks. Should we apply for PPP now to help them out and potentially have them go back to UI after 8 weeks if our office is still closed?

The CDA is not doing enough for dentists. We’ve closed all our offices and have no relief for patients and getting our business up and running once shelter in place is lifted!
shannonrae
53:37
no not all offices are closed the CDA has failed in mandating closures. many greedy and ruthless dentists still providing prophets with their hygienists fearing their safety but afraid of losing jobs.
Richard Keilson
54:48
I agree that I would like to see the CDA come out with a mandate, not a “recommendation”
Robert Sirotnik
56:13
I am curious. Have any administrative or clinical staff including dentists tested positive or have been hospitalized due to the normal practice of dentistry? I am currently closed.
Cara Young
56:53
the CDA is not a governing body and does not have the authority to do so. But they can advocate for a mandate from our government to make it happen
Richard Keilson
57:12
Then I wish they would

X-ray tech in Washington ortho practice. dead. RDH so cal in ICU.

58:24
The loss of income and liabilities associated with forced closure and uncertainty with how and what patients will return for services after this is over inspires more questions than answers. CDA should be more clear and be working around the clock to support the dentist community, mostly small businesses. getting additional loans is not an easy decision to make on top of our existing debt liabilities....
Leslie O'Neill
59:15
yes, we will delete
